Evaluation-promotion

  1. Morning assembly is held for the entire student body. All staff and students are expected to take part in the assembly.
  2.  Perfect silence is to be observed and strict discipline is to be maintained in class after the first bell.
  3.  Value Education / Moral Science is taught in the school in the belief that, it is vital in developing a balanced personality of every pupil.
  4. English must be spoken within the school premises. 5. Pupils should not leave the classroom during any period. They are prohibited from going out of the school premises during the school hours.
  5. Admission to St. Francis Convent Sr. Sec. School implies on the part of the pupil and the parents willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
  6.  Students whenever they come to school must wear the uniform prescribed for the season. Those who are not dressed in uniform may be excluded from the class or even sent home. Under vests is the part of uniform.
  7. Students must reach the school at least five minutes before the time fixed for morning school assembly.
  8. Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, neglect of home work, disobedience and disrespect towards the members of the staff or bad moral influence will lead to dismissal. The pupils are responsible to the school authorities for their conduct both in and outside the school.
  9. Students are strictly forbidden to bring objectionable literature to the school or to purchase any article of food from unauthorized dealers at or near the school premises.
  10.  Care must be taken of the school property; the students must not scratch or spoil the furniture, write on the walls or in any way damage what is provided for their use.
  11.  Any kind of damage done to the school property must be made good. Willful damage of property will lead to dismissal 
  12.  Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. It is not advisable for children to bring valuable articles to school. Money should neither be lent nor borrowed.
  13.  No one may leave the school premises during school hours THE without the principal's permission. Parents are not allowed not to see their children or interview the teachers during school hours except with the prior permission of the Headmistress/ Principal.
  14. All the photographs to be used for the school purpose or to be attested by the school should be taken with the school uniform (preferably winter uniform) on.
  15.  Letters are not to be sent to the students at the school address.
  16.  Parents are requested to keep in touch with the school authorities regarding the progress of their children. They are particularly requested to call for and check their progress report which is issued after every cycle of tests.
  17.  The rates of fees are subjected to change from time to time due to the increasing cost of maintenance and other expenses.
  18.  90% attendance will be necessary for promotion to the next class.

EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION

  1. There will be Periodic tests/Terminal tests. A minimum of 45% marks is required to pass in each subject. Promotion is based on the total performance of the student during the entire session. Therefore due attention should be paid on assessments, project work and examinations.
  2. Parents or guardians are requested to examine the report card gribefore signing it. They should make enquiries if no report is shown to them by their children.
  3.  No re-examination or supplementary are to be held. Pupil absent from an examination without grave reason, will be considered as having failed in it. In case of illness, promotion will be based on the year's performance.
  4.  All fees due up to the Terminal Examinations must be paid at least one week before the commencement of the examination.
  5.  In case student is found using unfair means during the Periodic tests/Terminal tests he/she will be awarded zero in that paper and debarred from appearing for the rest of the papers.
  6. The answer papers of the annual examination will not be shown to any body.

RULES CONCERNING LEAVE AND ABSENCE

No one who is late or has been absent for more than 3 days will be admitted to the class without the permission of the Principal.

Leave is not granted except on prior written application from parents, which can be done through this Handbook.

Every absence, sick leave etc. must be entered in the leave record pages of Handbook and signed by the parent. If a student is unable to come to school for more than three days, the case must be reported to the Principal.

Repeated absence without leave, or absence for more than ten consecutive days renders a student liable to have his name struck off the rolls. Re-admission if granted will be done on payment of a re-admission fee. 90% of attendance will be necessary for promotion to next class.

All are expected to attend the classes on the last working day before the start of the vacations and also on the opening, beginning of a term or immediately after a vacation renders student liable to have his name struck off the rolls. A student returning to school after Suffering from an infections or contagious disease should produce medical certificate permitting her/him to do so.
